Hi Metzger Mustangs! I am excited to be a part of the Metzger family for another school year. I am assigned solely to our campus, working closely with the counselors and can see/assist all students and families. I am a native of San Antonio and grew up on the Southeast side of town. I left San Antonio for college and attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. After graduating I worked in the child welfare system for a total of 13 years. During that time I went back to school and obtained my Master’s Degree in Community Counseling from The University of Texas at San Antonio. After realizing that Social Work was my passion, I went back to UTSA to earn my Master’s Degree in Social Work and became a Licensed Master Social Worker.

I believe that in order for students to be successful, they should be provided with a safe learning environment that will foster personal growth. Aside from assisting students with their educational goals, I will work with students to ensure social and emotional wellness. Socially, we will work together on establishing and maintaining positive relationships. For the emotional aspect, we will explore one’s ability to understand and cope with the challenges life can bring.
